US Home Insurance rates have increased by an average of 20% since the start of 2023 and are expected to continue to rise. In California, State Farm is currently asking regulators for a 30% increase on top of the 21% increase that was recently approved.

Fun Fact 4:
Despite strong home price increases over the past year, some markets have yet to return to 2022 peaks. About 12% of metropolitan areas remain below the June 2022 high, with most of them located in Texas, Idaho and the Northwest. There tend to be markets where home price gains were particularly strong during the pandemic and have seen significant resetting as mortgage rates surged.
