I have 4 fun facts to share with you today!  Facts 3 & 3.1 is an interesting comparison between housing affordability in 2022 & 2024. Hat tip to Tim for starting me down that rabbit trail. Have a great weekend!

Fun Fact 1:
The percentage of homes in negative equity for 10 select U.S. metro areas remains very small. This chart shows Q2 2024. Interestingly, Denver & Houston are tied.

This past August here in Colorado Springs, we had 1,605 new listings, 1,573 go under contract and for the year so far 7,802 sales have been completed so far this year.

In 2022, the average salary needed to buy a home in Denver was $121,900.  In Houston, it was $74,700.

Now in 2024, the average salary needed to buy a home in Denver is $160,900. In Houston, it is $98,100.
